From 11/21 to 12/6, the college is collecting any unused toiletries, extra food listed in the attachment and certain clothes for our students in need and a Westchester charity. If anyone has anything that they would like to donate, let me know.

When is the next meeting?

Dear Colleagues,

Please also see the attached flyer about the 2nd  Annual Toiletry Drive.

As you all know by now, the best of what we do as a group is support one another, encourage development, collaboration and engagement. We do this to enhance our sense of community and belonging, among other reasons. This wonderful initiative looks to support our broader community – to fill some basic needs for those less blessed than each of us. Please consider contributing in any way you can.

If anyone else has other announcements, I’m happy to share. I know our email boxes get full but this is PSC stuff so it’s all good, right?  J

Subject: November PSC Meeting

Dear Colleagues,

Other than updates, the PSC Executive Board does not have a substantial agenda for Tuesday, November 12th. The update on Middle States and on the President Search will also be given at College Senate the next day.

Accordingly, we are going to cancel the November PSC meeting. You are all busy and we want to be respectful of that.

Just one announcement from Jessica Pozzuoli below:

Weds Nov 13 in Threnody exhibition

1)      Sound Healing Meditation 12:30-1:30PM

2)      Vinyasa Yoga 6:30-7:30pm (Special class with Engels Artist creating his work simultaneous to the yoga class)

Free to campus community.

Remember, the December meeting is the Bake Off and we will NOT be cancelling that one! J Look for additional information from Lizz Elvira on getting involved in this really fun and festive (and yummy) competition.

Enjoy your free hour!!

Can you tell me who the recipients will be? Is there a nonprofit involved?

Attached is a pdf of donation needs. The recipients would be students in need on campus and the college is working with the Coachman Family Center which provides services to families in need.

I saw that the meeting is on the town calendar for 7pm, but that's off by a half hour. Just in case somebody checked that and was planning to show early - we're at 7:30.

Some very significant agenda items:

Composting - congrats, the town approved the budget! We need to set out next steps (which I guess include getting the long lead purchases organized, meeting with the high dept at the site, and planning education and outreach.

Community solar - we have a chance to generate some non-trivial funds for our work if we organize to promote. We'd need to have to be able make the case that we will do things such as to identify task force participants and a lead, be ready to organize an event or two (where we can bring in Sustainable Westchester to present), and reach out to community groups to ask them to share with their members etc.

Pay-As-You-Throw -  Sustainable Westchester has been discussing with a consultant who has laid out the steps to get from feasibility analysis to the solicitation for bids. I will share and look for feedback. Again, we'll need active engagement from the committee (or interested non-commitee residents) to demonstrate seriousness. This is another program that could potentially generate some funding to feed back into enhanced initiatives.
