How much space will we need in my fridge for workshop snacks? My roommate doesn't want to let me use any of his fridge space. He's purposely putting large items in spaces that I had cleared for the workshops and I'm concerned space will be tight. I'm trying to clear out as much of my fresh stuff as I can, but just so everyone knows, we're not going to have as much room in there as I thought.

Aaaaargh roommate tension!

A large tub of hummus, a medium tub of a black bean hummus. Some veggies and pita and I think someone was bringing gluten free bread. And some fruit probably.

House tension is no fun :( fridges can be difficult spaces to navigate with people. Do you have any kind of cold storage/cold space? We could keep fruit and carrots that way if they are whole.

I'll probably grab corn chips or rice crackers....I never did make that bread connection :( I made a BUNCH of vegan gluten free muffin/loaf! It shouldn't need refridgerartion....its mostly flax, fruit, maple syrup, oil and coconut flour. Maybe fridge or freezer space for a dozen muffins for later in the week if possible, but probably not necessary.

Tamara, can i bring carrots and rutabaga for soup? Do you need anything else? I have squash and spices...garlic, onion....

Love to you all on this bright snowy night*

Lauren

Hey,

also: outside if we keep it covered could work.
lets talk more tomorrow about fridge space and all that. im sure we can work something out
if it doesn't work to store at your house Michelle maybe we could each take some home and bring to each workshop.

see you all tomorrow!
we got this! you folks are great

My roomie and I had a conversation. I think everything should be ok. With his help, we've made some good space in there. If we can't fit everything, I have a closed in porch where we can store a few things. I think it'll work. He just wanted to see me stress... hah

I'm excited to see you all tomorrow! My cell number is 226-789-4561, just in case anyone has trouble finding the place. See you all soon!

I've run into a pretty serious problem in that I have caught a very bad bug. I think it's the flu. I'm worried about being around others and I probably won't make it to the meeting tonight. I want to rest for the week and I really don't want to spread it (two of my friends are sick as well). This only came on yesterday afternoon so whatever it is will still be contagious.

The food for the workshops is done though; I ‎decided to make a couple of smaller batches of hummus so that storage won't be such an issue and it will also be fresh. I also have pads done, which I can bring to the workshop, if that's alright. The only thing is the artist bio cards aren't done. I was going to finish those today but I'm having a lot of trouble focusing and staying awake. If we don't need them until Saturday, I can finish them once I get some strength back or someone else can take that over if they would be more comfortable.

I'm so sorry for this. I very rarely get sick and this came on very suddenly and strong and I am not a stoic ill person. ‎I am so excited for this week and I don't want it to be spoiled.

Sorry to hear that! Being sick is no fun. Please do stay home and rest!

Do you think the food is ok to serve? Often bugs are contagious before symptoms show.  Although as long as you made the food in a sanitized space and were diligent about hand washing it could be ok.

We don't need the cards til Saturday so I'm sure we can figure something out between now and then.

Rest well*

You could be right about germs. I hadn't thought of that. I made it early Sunday and I was very sick by the afternoon.‎ I was feeling fine at the time but I'm a little worried now. What do you guys think? I'm still quite sick as of this afternoon. I really don't want to spread it around. What do you guys think?

I've talked to two other people I've been with over the past week-end and they are both sick. I'm pretty hesitant about this hummus. I know I won't be able to‎ come tonight but I was going to drop it off at Michelle's. Now I'm worried. I can make a fresh batch for tomorrow and the days after but I'm worried about this one. I don't want to be responsible for more people getting sick.

Ok Tamara! Don't worry about it please.
Just get better. We could always just buy some if you aren't able to make any.
Just rest and no stress and then hopefully you'll be fucking awesome again on Saturday.

Since its really cold outside I don't think a lot of folks will come and we've got some stuff to munch on.
Maybe on someone's way to tonight's workshop they can buy a dip?
I have a bunch to get together so that'd be sweet but no sweat if not!
It'll still be good.

Lotsa love! and healing light to ya Tamara

Yeah, I agree. It's no big deal. Like Jana said, it's hella cold out there, so we probably won't have too many people to feed tonight. We've got apples and crackers and a few other snacky things that should hold us for tonight.

Get some good rest and stay warm!
Michelle

Tamara, do you need someone to take over the tent card duties?

Since we won't need them until Saturday, I think it should be fine, but if someone would be more comfortable just getting them done and not having to worry about it, that's fine. The ones I've done so far have been very simply so it isn't as though I'll feel like I wasted time or anything. It's just important that everything go smoothly.
