The Central District has received a grant from the city to establish a public art strategy and plan.
There are a series of public meetings to help identify what that strategy and plan should be. Attached are details of those meetings – the first is Monday night 3/28.
Your participation would be most helpful…

Central District Public Art Plan
C r e a t e . D e l i g h t . P l a y . A c t . P l a n .
Join your neighbors in creating a public art plan for the people of Seattle’s Central District — art for all, by all, in our public spaces. Help us find new ways to enliven our streets, sidewalks and parks, highlight our rich cultural heritage, and include art in festivals, parades and events. We’re walking our talk by including artists in our three major planning events:
Monday, March 28th, 6:30-8:30 pm
2100 Building, 2100 24th Ave S
(One block east of 23rd and Rainier Ave.)
Project kick-off with food and music and fun. After a short inspirational presentation we’ll get together in small groups to brainstorm where art should be in our neighborhood and what kinds of art we would like to see.
Thursday, April 28th, 6:30-8:30 pm
Central Area Senior Center, 500 30th Ave S
(One block south of S Jackson St.)
Our planning team will report back on everything they heard from the neighborhood, and we’ll have an event where you can give feedback on the themes and ideas that have emerged.
Saturday, May 21st, 3:00-5:00 pm
Central Area Senior Center, 500 30th Ave S
(One block south of S Jackson St.)
Our team will present a final plan with your ideas, and we’ll talk about what we want to implement first and how we’re going to do it.
Please join your neighbors in making the Central District a neighborhood full of rich and expressive public art!
