Agenda:
LEO first needs this session to gather your questions on cross-relevance/redundancy of all the subcommittee working drafts.
To create an agenda for another X-CHECK subcommittee call we need to know what you need to know.
That is what this meeting is all about. You pose questions. I take notes.
For you to have relevant questions, in most cases, you will have to read at least some of the working drafts found on the Google Groups. Other questions can be general - as they relate to the interdependence of the criteria and the standard’s cohesiveness
as a whole.
Please hold tangential general process questions for private meetings. We have limited time to create this agenda/Goal-set. See below for the first draft.
GOALS in X- Check Project - to Get Started (Please add to this)
- Simplify, simplify, simplify everywhere possible! Remember this needs to be usable for non-specialists.
- Peer Review. Trade drafts with your fellow process members of other 2 subcommittees and cross-check sections with your fresh perspective. Then hold side calls to discuss. Leo can provide support with setting up free GOTO meetings. Just ask.
- Ask yourself whether a section is too stringent or inconsistent in its requirements - pay attention to the “OPTIONAL” and “REQUIRED”s.
- Eliminate duplications or topical overlap in criteria where necessary, keeping in mind that some duplication will be okay. Ask, are the criteria here better housed in a different section altogether? Think outside the box. How is sustainability measurement
trending? Think ahead as technology improves...where indices will be addressed in the future.
- Add in verbiage that will marry Performance Level (PL) expectations across the ENVIRO/SOCIAL/ECON criteria.
- Provide more clarity for farmers where possible
- Take this time to catch any mistakes/typos and other whiskers. Bring them to my attention. Our time is limited so let’s get it cleaned up.
See you tomorrow, Thanks all!
