Hi all,
It is great to say we have completed our last draft of all 3 subcommittee work!
Thank you all for your tireless dedication to this open process in trying to create a voluntary national sustainable agriculture standard that is not owned by private corporations and is written and reviewed by a diverse stakeholder group. Great work!
We are gearing up for submission to public comment over the holidays so we have to get the draft standard all ready in the month of November.
We have coming up:
-Please review the draft work of fellow subcommittees as you are able. The draft files are all found on the respective Google Group lists, not the Wiki. If you can’t find one, just ask for help.
-Feel free to send excerpts to colleagues, find folks to potentially pilot the standard and preach the word to others as we approach the finish line.
-Cross-subcommittee discussions scheduling - please bring your list of questions. We will send a Doodle today or tomorrow.
-Coordinating Committee Meeting a week or two prior to the Quarterly. We will send a Doodle.
-Quarterly Committee Meeting Friday November 16th 2 hours - If you did not get the invitation, please tell me immediately.
-(All leadership will be expected to present a simple ad-lib 10-20 minute presentation as we usually do of all the sections at that meeting. You are responsible for assigning lead editors to
their sections, presenting it yourself or a finding a sub if you cannot make the meeting. Thank you.)
-Section 1-3 and editing the completed definitions glossary are currently being worked on by S&P. They need more volunteers.
- ENVIRO members please submit the Production Systems, Biotic Resources sections and other files that were being spruced up. Thank you.
-All work and current submissions for the REF. Guide should be in.
-Marketplace subcommittee will submit a marketing plan to the committee review shortly
-We want to submit the LEO-4000 draft standard to the technical editor by the holiday or the end of the month. Then the edit should take about a month. Then the committee has to review the mark ups to get it ready for a 60 day public comment.
-We appreciate you arranging your schedules for this fun flurry of activity in November!
Please feel free to ask me any questions that are generated by this email.
Take care,
Jennifer
