A revised draft version of LEO-4000 has been prepared by the subcommittees and is now going through a technical edit. We would like to thank the subcommittees for all their hard work on preparing this updated draft. We will send out the revised draft as soon as the technical edit is completed. We are scheduling the next Standard Committee conference call from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Central Time on November 25th.  The agenda for this conference call will be to talk about the revised draft and begin the voting on the release for public comment. Hi Everyone,

As I understand it, the vote to release the draft for public comment will be conducted via email, with a certain time period allowed for Standards Committee members to submit their decision.  So I assume that Monday's webinar is an opportunity to ask questions and submit comments, but that the final decision and any further revisions will come later in December.

Mike, am I correct in this assumption?  Can you please inform the whole Committee as to the time frame for this process?  How long will the public comment period be?

I would also like to suggest that the Committee develop and pursue an aggressive outreach plan on rollout of the Standard for public comment.  This would include some FAQs and 'cheat sheets' about the Standard and how it was developed that encourage all interested parties to review and submit public comment.   Standard Committee Members (as well as Subcommittee Observers) should identify winter meetings and conferences at which they can either make formal presentations of the draft Standard or that they can attend and bring along some printed material for distribution.

Lets get behind our work and also extend appreciation for the huge and productive effort made by the staff at the Leonardo Academy.

I ‘m assuming Monday’s call will provide some information on process going forward.  Is the reference document that was to accompany the standard also ready for review?  It seems like reviewing them in tandem would be most useful.

In a first pass through the document, I noticed some formatting that should be standardized, ideally before it goes out to public comment, to avoid distracting reviewers with such trivia.  Could be an artifact of the conversion to PDF, as sometimes happens.  In any case, I noted some examples in the attachment.
