Hello Barney
I think I missed responding to this note in the GBCP newsletter earlier this month. I’m interested in the issues and know others are as well. The problem is getting together for meetings. Ben maintains a list of those who fill in the bird survey but there is also the (sadly neglected) Sustainable Southville mailing list with 34 members.
Don’t know if you’ve seen the bird monitoring summary but attached is the collated data from 2012, 2013 and the start of 2014 in a summary document that has now been submitted to the West of England wildlife records centre
http://www.brerc.org.uk. Also attached for completeness are the 6 month winter recording sheet used by some, and the 12 month recording sheet used by others.
I’m up for some plotting and planning about next steps.
Regards
Eric

Bedminster Wild Life
Would you be interested in identifying, protecting and managing areas of wild life habitat in and around Bedminster? They may be alongside roads and railways, hidden behind warehouses or, increasingly, part of our parks and open spaces. Some of them need caring for and there is a possibility of having a group which would make this their main focus. This might be under the wing of the existing wild life group (mostly monitoring at present) or separately organised under the umbrella of the Greater Bedminster Community Partnership. It could serve the various Parks' "Friends of" groups. If you would like to help start such a group then please contact Barney Smith atbarney...@gmail.com or 07929727259 or 0117 239 9331.
