I'm really sorry about my long silence in our Sustainable Reynoldsburg forum. I am trying to get back into action...

In case you haven't heard about this event on Saturday, the main part of it is a big bike ride to draw attention to climate change and the need to move beyond fossil fuels as speedily as we can. Register at Franklin Park amphitheater any time from noon - the ride starts at 1.15pm. There's a website link in Becca's message below. I plan to go by bus and bike, so one of COTA's bike racks on the Reynoldsburg route will be occupied, but I'd welcome some company!

To friends of clean air and a sustainable environment:

Saturday, September 24th, Noon - 4pm  Franklin Park Amphitheater This is the place to be if you want to be part of Moving Planet beyond fossil fuels. This central Ohio event is a bike ride and party to celebrate a future where we are not dependent on oil and coal.
This event is one of thousands in 181 countries around the globe. 350.org We will be part of a planetary roar to change our energy habits. Be a part of history. Join the grassroots movement to create a sustainable future for our children and all the species whom co-inhabit this planet.
You don't need to ride a bike to be part of this event. There is plenty to do at the "climate solutions" festival. There will be speakers, Jason Box, OSU climate scientist and Lee Geist, lady steel worker from the Blue-Green Alliance.  There will be live music, activities for children (including kid's  bike rides around Franklin Park, cool bike2thefuture tees for $10, tables of green businesses & organizations to browse, and fun foods to purchase.
If you want to ride in the eight mile group ride to demonstrate pedal power you can pre-register by clicking on the link to 350Columbus from bike2thefuture.org .  There are no costs.

We need volunteers at the event. Basically there are two shifts 10:30am-1:30pm for set up and directing people and 1:30pm - 5:00pm for directing people and break down. If you are interested e-mail me and the shift you prefer.  You can ride and volunteer both.

Bike2thefuture also is inviting willing hands to come to a "build the buzz" phone-bank, dinner, and poster party this Thursday September 22. 6pm-8:30pm  Come to the Sierra Club Office 131 N.High St  Cols  OH 43215 (Northwest corner of High & Long).  If you want dinner you need to send me an e-mail or call the Sierra Club at (614) 461-0734.

Looking forward to adding our voices to others all around this world to wake-up and act for a healthy planet.
