Hi Guys

By now you probably know myself and a few others are trying to raise money though crowd funding for a high school to become carbon neutral and build a community garden.
I'd love it if you can help out by donating or sharing this with your networks.

We've only a few more weeks to go, so I'll only send out a few more of these updates in the mean time (with some new rewards), but follow the link at the bottom to let me if you don't want to receive these.

My apologies if you're already on the subscriber list and get this twice.

Hope you're all well
Luko

Update 1

Where are we now?

Beasts and Gardens in the City

Crowd Funding Project

A zero carbon school growing it's own food?

Students learning sustainability with dirty hands?
Wow! One anonymous donor just gave us $1000!
We don't expect everyone to be able to give so much - so join Lara, a builders apprentice and architect, in donating.  As an early donor, one garden bed already has her name on it. Could you be next?
Or perhaps you want to donate $100 and do a sustainability workshop with Tom at Northey Street City Farm?

Or you're a business, like Nick from Efficient Business who donated without reward?

We're almost at 50% - help us get there!

Energetic Communities is embarking on an ambitious plan to help Corinda State High School go carbon neutral.

As part of this, we are inviting you to donate to our Crowd Funding Project to help build a community garden.

The Project
(see full project here):

We think a community garden and a carbon neutral school offer students an amazing possibility!

Energetic Communities want your assistance to help Corinda State High School build an outdoor classroom and create a vibrant urban community farm on the school's existing agricultural farm.   We will teach students how to be self sufficient, to grow their food from seed to plate (or banana leaf)! Students will be much more engaged in practical activities and team building.

The gardens would provide students with positive skills including creativity, critical thinking, responsibility, cooperation and autonomy, as well as self-esteem and physical activity, benefitting the sustainability of our communities, cultures, and local economies.
Our goal is to build an outdoor classroom, permaculture gardens, community allotments, community composting facility, and to redesign the school grounds to grow local food using permaculture, potentially making it Australia’s first school based certified organic community farm and eco-centre.

The Shapers of Tomorrow 5 day program celebrates the transition that young people are making in their journey from childhood into adults.     Based on work from The Institute for Earth Education and incorporating Work that Reconnects and Collaborative Competency, this powerful environmental leadership program for 14 – 16 year olds helps explore sustainable ways for them to shape their own and the planet’s future.

In learning about the key concepts of life on earth students visit Anna Maria’s Pizza Parlor to discover the flow of sunlight energy and the hidden costs of our carbon fueled economy.  They learn about interrelationships at the Connection Inspection site, and go to the Circus of Cycles and act out the cycles of air, water and soil, before taking the journey of a lifetime to experience change over time.  Students then display their understandings by creating their own Model Planet.

Wild Mountains Trust is an independent, community focussed, non-profit organisation providing leadership in environmental education and conservation.

The Trust has acquired land south of Rathdowney adjoining the World Heritage Border Ranges National Park for a nature reserve and venue for education. On this magnificent site a world class Centre is being built. Here, using the unique purpose-built residential facility, quality experiential environmental education for the whole community will be provided.

In subtropical and eucalypt forests participants will have the opportunity to discover an amazing natural world. At the same time Wild Mountains can reinforce its educational programs with examples of renewable power generation.
