Fwd: NBN Towers Info Meeting Maleny

Hi crew,

This is an issue that we need to have a close look at. It seems that living within one kilometre of these towers is potentially a health risk. In the US property values drop by around 20% within that sort of radius of a tower. Council and state govts will not have them on their land for fear of future litigation, so the company involved Ericksson is approaching private land holders in the area. The Maleny Tower Action Committee (MALTAC) is working on getting someone up to this meeting from the North Coast Tower Action Group- from around Lismore with valuable info and experience to share.

They are looking at constructing around a half dozen of these microwave (water boiling) NBN towers around the area. This meeting is a chance to get more of a handle on the issue.

Hi Pat,

Computer glitz. The meeting will be at the Neighbourhood Centre at 2pm on Saturday September 6. I'm Bccing this onto a few others. May I say this meeting and this wider topic is very much in the realm of the theme of your good quality letter in the Range News today. That these delightful characters believe they know what is best for the wider community. I would suggest that they don't and that there is an anti-social element at work here. To put it mildly.
