The Australian Bamboo Society presents A Bamboo Construction & Design Info Night in Maleny.
An information and networking night - Maleny RSL hall Saturday 9th April starting at 8pm.
This Weekend, Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th of April the Bamboo Society of Australia representatives, members and special guests will be converging on Maleny to hold 2 days of Design & Construction workshops.
There will be 3 presentations by experienced Bamboo architects during the event and additional information delivered by some of Australia’s leading Bamboo wisdom keepers. These workshops are for people interested in constructing large or small bamboo structures.
Due to the popularity in this alternative construction method, the workshops have now sold out. However the BSA has added an additional opportunity to those interested hearing the latest developments and technique using the world’s most sustainable building material. An information and networking night will be held at the Maleny RSL hall on Saturday 9th April starting at 8pm.
Darrel DeBoer AIA President who was recently named one of the most influential designers in the US and Munir Vahanvati, Architect and cofounder of ‘Giant Grass’, Jaye Irving from ‘Barefoot Sustainable Design’ & former ABS President and local Earthcare Director Hans Erken will present slides and talk about all things bamboo in construction including design possibilities & jointing technologies not covered in the workshops. It will also offer a preview of some of the wonderful Bamboo designs and projects around the world. “It will be a great opportunity for anybody with an interest in alternative building to discuss any questions they may have with some of the world leaders in the field” says Hans.
All are welcome to attend this amazing event with the pure intention of spreading the word about Bamboo.
