How We Grow

We begin with the soil and farm through the lens of agroecology, recognizing interconnection, synergy, and the importance of diversity—from soil biology to the communities nourished by the harvest.  We follow National Organic Program guidelines with thoughtful local exceptions such as Zoo Brew compost from Price Farms Organics (Delaware, Ohio) and Tilth potting soil (Cleveland, Ohio).

Curious—and Want to Learn More?

Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis) were discovered during the March bird walk this week astride Weiser Run along with twelve bird species. Snowdrops are native to eastern Europe and western Asia grasslands. They have become naturalized in North America. The deer are hesitant to eat them, and although they are not native, they provide early nectar for bees.
