The PSC is opening an "investigation" - essentially a study, to determine if there should be a separate rate for juicing electric cars in DC.  The impetus is DC Gov'ts. proposal that a special rate will encourage the adoption of electric vehicles.  In so far as electric source transportation has been identified by some of us as essential to meeting objectives for CO2 emission reductions sufficient to meet aggressive targets, this might be of interest. Organizations and individuals are eligible to "intervene."  If you would like your informed opinion to be represented in the proceedings of the PSC on this matter, you may want to follow the simple instructions to become an intervener.

I am writing to encourage you to participate in the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia’s recently opened case investigating the regulatory treatment of electric vehicles and related services in the District.  I have attached a copy of Commission Order No. 16713, which opened this case, for your reference.  By intervening in this case, parties can remain informed of all future filings related to electric vehicles in the District.  Additionally, I would like to invite you to propose issues for the Commission to consider during the course of this case.

All motions to intervene and proposed issues can be filed with Brinda Westbrook-Sedgwick, Commission Secretary, Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia, 1333 H Street, N.W., West Tower, Suite 200, Washington, D.C. 20005 or at the Commission’s website at www.dcpsc.org.

Sincerely,
