I hope we can engage the communities in which projects are planned in a meaningful way. Only with their buy-in and ownership will any endeavor be truly sustainable. I have been following (off and on) the efforts in Cleveland for a decade now and I think their Eco-City is a good blueprint for this type of engagement. Also recently launched here in DC is Popularise – Build your city, which poses the question “What would you build here?” on projects slated for development/redevelopment. https://popularise.com/home
