The Witham Oaks property was annexed to Corvallis
in 2004. Now the developer is bankrupt. The property will be auctioned off on
January 29, 2010 on the steps of the Benton County Courthouse. Friends of
Witham Oaks would like to purchase the property and donate it to the city for
a natural area. Most of us could not afford one acre or one lot in
Witham Oaks, but if we work together, perhaps we can have a natural
area for many generations of all species to enjoy. Increasing the acreage of protected natural habitat is part of Goal 1 of the Corvallis Sustainibility Coalition's Natural Areas and Wildlife Action Team. Will you make a donation so
that we can make this dream a reality?
We have non-profit status, so donations are tax deductible. All donations will
be returned if we are unable to purchase the property. A thank you letter and
receipt will be mailed to you when we receive your donation. A wonderful anonymous donor will match each donation of $200 or more with
a $200 dollar donation, for all donations made by December 31, 2009. That means
$200 becomes a $400 donation with the match. Will you help save the property as
open space for all of Corvallis
to enjoy?
A donation form is attached. Checks should be made payable to: Friends of
Witham Oaks.
Mail them to:
