Road Runners Wanted!
Ok, we don't actually need any Wile E. Coyote or Road Runners...but we do need Road Crew for Saturday and Sunday afternoon of the the Graand Kinetic Challenge. Ideally, we would have 12 of you lovelies along the route cheering the teams on, as well as making sure they stay on course! The shifts would be from about noonish (before the race officially starts) to until the last team passes you by. This year we have a new program that you may help us track the racers so spectators know when and where the teams will be along the course!
OTHER VOLUNTEER SPOTS:
Camp sitter (Sunday around 10 AM to about 4 PM) - all you have to do is sit around Avery Park and keep an eye on the OSU solar generator and the racers camp gear. Wanna camp too? You are more than welcome to join the fun! Interested? Hit reply and let us know! (Not on sign up form).
Assistant Parking Wizard for Sunday morning at the Mud Bog: Help the leaders from Odd Fellows park the cars. Who knows, you may even get to see some cool vintage cars (they get special parking). Ideally we'd like 1-3 people here.
People Counters/Survey Takers: Saturday along the course and at the Sand Dune Challenge. Sunday morning from mud to river entry; and/or for the Finish Line at Riverfront Park. Click to count, have a clipboard and ask spectators where they're from (and more). If you're really into it, help us get votes for "Fan Favorite!" Ideally we'd like 3-4 people for these spots.
Dinner Servers: Saturday night we offer a free catered dinner for racers, their crew and volunteers. While as a server, you help dish out the food, but you also get to eat & drink the meal. The dinner will be at Avery Park's Townsend Shelter. We have some, need more help!
Gift of Gab? We are looking for Emcee trainees! Entertain the crowds, riff with a pal, thank the sponsors and be the second or third center of attention (first are the sculptures, of course!) This spot is also not on the form, so hit reply and tell us you're interest!
