We are pleased to have Dr. Mark Hixon present his insights into Oregon’s coastal concerns, including such topics as invasive species, tsunamis, and ocean warming. 
Dr. Hixon is professor of Marine Ecology and Conservation Biology in Oregon State University’s Department of Zoology.  His expertise is the ecology of coastal marine ecosystems, and he focuses on what naturally regulates populations and sustains biodiversity.  He recently co-chaired a state-appointed committee that designed the new marine reserve and protected areas off Cape Perpetua
