How to Use GIS to Achieve Conservation Goals
This month we will hear from Chris Beatty, who is volunteering with local nonprofits to apply GIS tools to reach conservation goals. He will be talking about how he uses DOGAMI LiDAR and other web-based mapping tools to scan the forest canopy across Oregon. Using these tools for analysis helps us better understand stand age and other characteristics.
Greenhouse Coffee and Plants is a lovely indoor venue, with many plants and windows. It almost feels like a cozy outdoor patio. They also provide a variety of snacks and drinks, including a few cider and beer options.
