HIKE TO THE SOURCE OF SEQUOIA CREEK – CORVALLIS’ FORGOTTEN CREEK

Hike from Wilson Elementary School to the source of Corvallis' forgotten and partially buried creek that flows from Chip Ross Park all the way to the Willamette River behind the Children's Farm Home. The 4-mile hike follows the creek uphill before it is piped underground as it flows through the rest of northwest Corvallis. You will see places you’ve never seen before in Corvallis, even if you live in the neighborhood.

Missing Middle is a term used to describe the wide range of residential building types between single-detached dwellings and large, multi-dwelling structures. By the late 20th Century, these types of housing were severely restricted or prohibited outright by many cities’ zoning codes and little has been built since. This tour will explore the historic context for these buildings in Corvallis’s older neighborhoods and the importance of housing choice.
