"Bats and Native Willamette Valley Habitat" Lecture

Join us for the 4th installment of the Living With Nature Lecture Series with presenter Pat Ormsbee, Bat Specialist with the Forest Service. Pat will be talking about bats of Oregon, and their inter-reliance on the health of native habitats, from oak woodlands to riparian forests. GLT Annual Meeting, 1st Presbyterian Church

Join us for our Annual Meeting! Learn about the work we did with your support in 2010, and our plans for the next year. We are pleased to have as our speaker Cathy Macdonald, Director of Conservation for The Nature Conservancy. Visit with friends old and new, enjoying local eats, music, and good conversation. At this event we will be announcing a major new project for Greenbelt  and our community. Join us to find out more!

Archeology Tour - Willamette Bluffs

Join us as we walk Willamette Bluffs, a GLT protected property at the confluence of the Willamette, Santiam, and Luckiamute Rivers. With leaders from Mary Peak Group Sierra Club (MPG) and GLT, we'll walk along an actively farmed portion of the property to the 100 foot sheer bluffs overlooking the confluence. Dave Brauner, OSU archeologist, will join us to talk about the rich history of the region, from Native American to western settler uses, and the dynamic history of the river. 10AM departure, meet at the GLT Office for carpooling and directions to the site. False-brome Workshop

A collaboration among The Institute for Applied Ecology, Benton County, Benton Soil and Water Conservation District, and Greenbelt Land Trust will be sponsoring a workshop on the Ecology, Management, and Control of False-brome (brachypodium sylvaticum) at the Corvallis Library. The goal of this workshop is to provide land managers and owners with an understanding of the life history, management, and control of false-brome in the mid-Willamette Valley. There will be a morning workshop session, followed by afternoon field trips.
