Hello there, wonderful people of Corvallis!

My name is Cameo Ariel Ku'ualohalani Perrells, and I’m reaching out on behalf of SAND, the Social Advocacy Network of Disabilities. We are a newly forming grassroots nonprofit based in Corvallis focused on disability advocacy, accessibility, inclusion, and community connection.

Our mission centers around creating access, building community, and uplifting lives. We believe Disabled individuals deserve more than just basic accommodations; they deserve spaces where they can genuinely belong, participate, lead, and thrive.

One of our newest projects is called Access Together, a free monthly community meetup for adults with disabilities held every first Thursday from 4–6 PM at The Plaza in downtown Corvallis. The goal is to create an inclusive, welcoming social space where Disabled adults can connect, build friendships, share resources, and strengthen community in an accessible environment. I’ve attached our flyer to this email as well.

As a new nonprofit, we’re currently in our grassroots launch phase and are working hard to build momentum, partnerships, and visibility throughout the community. We are passionate about creating meaningful change around accessibility, universal design, Disability culture, and inclusion in local spaces and events.

If you know Disabled individuals, advocates, caregivers, community members, or organizations who may benefit from or want to support Access Together, we would greatly appreciate you sharing our information and helping spread the word.

We recently launched our Donorbox campaign to help support our early organizing efforts, programming, outreach, and future accessibility initiatives:
SAND Grassroots Launch Fund

Our website will be launching soon, but in the meantime, we would love for people to follow along on Facebook:

We’re excited for what’s ahead and truly believe Corvallis has the potential to become a stronger, more inclusive community when disabled voices are included at the table from the beginning.

Looking forward to connecting.

Sincerely,

Cameo Ariel K. Perrells
