Want to learn about a Japanese style of fly fishing that uses only a rod, line, and fly to land fish, and how it fits here in the PNW?
Amanda Hoffner, also known as @ladytenkarabum , is an international tenkara angler who recently moved from the East Coast to the Willamette Valley. She has fished and caught trout with a tenkara rod in 30 states (including Oregon), and plans to continue to inspire and bring together anglers and outdoor enthusiasts to explore the art and traditions of tenkara and fixed line fishing.
During this Tap Talk on February 19th, Amanda will tie some recognizable tenkara flies and some variations of her own while talking about tenkara and how effective it can be in the PNW. Please feel free to bring your own vise (BYOV) and tie along with her, as she will provide some materials and the knowledge.
These events are supported by the Oregon Conservation Recreation Fund. Common Fields also generously donates 10% of food and drink sales to Marys River Watershed Council to support our restoration and education efforts.
