Greetings everyone,
Corvallis Farmer's Market (CAFM) starts up their Winter Indoor Market this coming Saturday (Jan. 10, 9am-1pm) at the Benton County Fairgrounds. CAFM requested two bike racks for the duration of the market (Jan-April) and the TAT will transport the racks to the fairgrounds and leave them until the weekly market ends in April. They'll be set up near the south entrance. Tell your friends who bike or roll that there will now be convenient bike parking at this market!
(If you use these racks, please let me know if you think two suffices or more are needed.)
Also, CAFM is trying to figure out a way to get public transit to service the fairgrounds on Saturdays during market hours. The closest Corvallis Transit System bus is Route 8. Currentl, it turns off of 53rd at SW West Hills Rd, does a loop around Grand Oaks Dr., and then heads back to the Downtown Transit Center (DTC). Route 8 does the loop every two hours. We are wondering if there is time within this two-hour loop to add a 10-minute spur out the fairgrounds during the Winter Indoor Market hours. This would be the Route 8 start times from the DTC at 8am, 10am, and 12pm.
This brings me to the REQUEST: Ride Route 8 for its entire loop and record the DTC departure time, the time at each stop, how many people get on and off at each stop, and the DTC return time.
Ideally, we would get one person for each Route 8 loop starting at 8am, 10am, and 12pm for this Saturday, but data on one loop at these start times any day of the week would be great. If you are willing and able to volunteer for a loop, please respond to all and let us know the time and date.
Thanks, Steve
