Greetings everyone,
Please see the attached notes from our March zoom meeting.

Some meeting highlights:
We discussed what more the TAT and its members can do to support and accelerate our city's transition to a safe and sustainable transportation system (more on this coming soon).

We highlighted Oregon Senate Bill 395, which  would increase bike/pedestrian funding from 1% to 5% of state highway funds and improve bike/pedestrian infrastructure across the state.  It is currently being promoted by The Street Trust (https://www.thestreettrust.org/), which is a Portland-based non-profit working to “create communities where people can meet their daily transportation needs through active transportation.” Here is their link to Oregon Senate Bill 395 (https://www.thestreettrust.org/SB395).

The city announced its new Public Works Director, Jeff Blaine, and 36th Street for repavement/restriping this summer with buffered bike lanes on both sides of the street, which follows road design recommentdations in the Transportation System Plan. See attached notes for more details.

Oregon Cascades West Council of Governments made available a new report summarizing bike and pedestrian use of the Eric E. Austin Memorial Bypass. Sensational stat: over 1000 users each week!

TAT member recommends a new webinar “Pursuing Equity” on cities and transportation, featuring such luminaries as Transportation Secretary Mayor Pete, Dr. Fauci, and Sadik Kahn. Link below:
