Greetings TATers,
'Tis the season for bike rack transport events. We've already transported racks for three events this season, with two more coming up this weekend. The mobile bike rack program is growing in popularity every year and more people are biking and rolling to these events. We transported bike racks to a record 14 events last year and will likely break that record this year.

Unfortunately, as the number of events increases, our small transport team of volunteers is shrinking. This amazing program needs new volunteers. To rebuild our volunteer list, I will be hosting two bike rack transport trainings this coming weekend:

Bike Rack Transport Trainings:
1) Saturday (May 17), 5-7pm, Cloverland Park
2) Sunday (May 18), 12am-2pm, Crystal Lake Park

For the training, you will need a bike with a rear pannier rack (see attached flier). I will have adjustable trailer hitches to attach to your rear rack. Once we attach the hitch and a bike rack trailer with a couple racks, you can take it on a test ride. Training will only take 15-30 minutes. If you are interested in the training, please respond to this email (only my email address) and tell me the training and time I should expect you.

The more, the merrier - and the more likely this program will thrive! If you have avid cycling friends that might be interested in volunteering for the team, please forward this to them. If you have an older teen in your life with strong biking skills, this would be a great sustainability service project and resume builder - please sign up and bring this young person to a training.

For more information, check out the attached flier and our webpage below.

Thank you! Steve

Greetings again, everyone,
This is the last call for this round of training to become part of the Bike Rack Transport Team. This is your chance to see how it feels to pull bike racks on your bike and see if you would like to participate in this amazing sustainability action. It is also a great sustainability service opportunity for older teens with biking experience and could lead to a leadership opportunity.

Bike Rack Transport Trainings:
1) Saturday (May 17), 5-7pm, Cloverland Park
2) Sunday (May 18), 12am-1:30pm, Crystal Lake Park

Given the response so far, most of the training will take place in the first hour. If more people would like to attend the training, I'll happily stick around for the second hour.

If you would like to attend, please email me.

Thanks, Steve

This means reduced carbon pollution, cleaner air and water, better attended events, and a happier and healthier community.
