Greetings everyone,
Yesterday the TAT hosted Corvallis Public Works staff in a lunch-time webinar to preview active transportation improvements planned for Western Blvd, 35th St & 11th St, which will be implemented during scheduled resurfacing in 2025.

If you are interested in these projects and were not able to attend, we have made available the presentation (attached) and video recording

Public Works received many questions from attendees during the forum Q&A (transcript attached). Our stellar Q&A moderator Sarah Bronstein asked staff many of these questions - please watch the video for those answers. If you have additional questions and concerns, the comment period closes on July 1 at 8am.

Please submit your comments via email to Project Manager Josh Bjornsted (Josh.Bj...@corvallisoregon.gov) with the subject line "35th/Western Public Questions".

Finally, here’s the Public Works description of what was covered at the forum:
The City of Corvallis is planning for resurfacing portions of the following three streets: Western Blvd., 35th St, & 11th St. The project will also replace an aging 20-inch waterline located in Western Blvd and in 35th Street from West Hills Road to Washington Way. Street resurfacing will follow installation of this waterline. In addition to the new pavement, improvements to bicycle and pedestrian amenities will be incorporated into this project. Bicycle and pedestrian improvements include buffered bike lanes, ADA ramp reconstruction, pedestrian refuge median, pedestrian crossing advanced signing, a speed hump installation and an RRFB (Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon) installation. Additionally, street lighting upgrades are planned at several locations within the project limits. The project is planned to advertise for bids in late August 2024 and go to construction in 2025.

Please feel free to forward this to interested people.
Thanks, Steve
