Thanks Annette for putting together such a great document full of comprehensive recommendations tied to Corvallis' already stated goals.

Perhaps this is a given in any meter upgrade program, but I think it would be improvement to make sure that any meter upgrade (digital is definitely needed!) would have an available option (perhaps meter cards) available to those citizens who don't have bank accounts or credit cards.

Hi, Elisabeth,

 

The credit goes to Court Smith for drafting the document. Regarding upgrading parking meters, the City’s consultant (Rick Williams Consulting) devoted a fair amount of space in one of their white papers discussing meter upgrades. I've attached a document which I submitted to the city staff, city council and mayor
about a year ago which addresses these issues. There are workable solutions which
are a lot cheaper and easier to implement that new parking meters.
