Hi Dave, Anne, Cheryl, Jim and members of the Corvallis Sustainability land and transportation committees:

We have interacted with both the Land Use and Transportation committee before as members of the West Hills Neighborhood Association and am reaching out to you to see if you are participating in applying for any of the ODOT TGM grants. I wasn’t sure who the appropriate person(s) was to send this to, so I am reaching out to all of you. Please forward this note to anyone who you think might be interested.

West Hills Neighborhood Association would like to advocate for safer roods and multiuser paths on West Hills Rd, given the proposed development of Mary’s Annexation. We noticed that the City of Corvallis is not listed on any of the current and completed grant approved project lists from 21' and earlier (See attachments below). This seems like such a good opportunity for our City and wondered if you would be interested in collaborating on a joint proposal.  We are seeking to collaborate to make our City's active transportation network safer, broader, and more accessible. Options noted in the current and approved project lists are TSP amendments and bike/ped network plans, to name a few. Do either of your committees have any particular progressive projects in mind that would benefit from collaborating on this grant possibility?

Thanks so much for your time! We value all of the work you do for our community and recognize the effort you have made to work to support West Hills in the past!

The TGM cycle kicked off with pre-applications and cutoff date is March 31st

Thank you so much, Nancy. I’m going to forward your message to the Coalition’s Transportation Action Team, as they might also be interested.

Do you already have a project in mind – and will you be writing the grant? Or are you looking for the Sustainability Coalition to take the lead?

Thanks,

Annette

I live within the traditional homeland of the Ampinefu Band of Kalapuya.  Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya …Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations at either Grand Ronde or Siletz. Today, the Kalapuya live on tribal lands or tribal-ceded lands throughout the region. Many Kalapuya are active members of the sovereign nations of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde or the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians. Kalapuya culture is alive.

Hi Nancy,

Members of 500 Women Scientists Corvallis are working on developing a crowdsourced database of site-specific environmental conditions. Please contact me if you are interested in learning more about the data collection procedures and how the West Hills Neighborhood Association can obtain critical info needed to assess the potential impacts of the proposed Mary's Annexation development.

Thanks,

Susan

Susan!
That would be awesome! I have added a few if the WHNA board members to this email thread but I think it’s a fabulous idea and could help us in any grant opportunities we might consider.  Thank you so much for reaching out to us!

Sincerely, Nancy

My schedule is busy but flexible. I am staying in town for spring break. I am available to meet in person (outdoors) or I can discuss opportunities for collaboration over Zoom and by phone. Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Thanks,

Susan
