Hi, Land Use Action Team,
I hope you were able to attend the open house sponsored by the City’s Downtown Parking Task Force on March 26th. I received an email this morning from Ward 6 City Councilor Alison Bowden, asking about the work of our Land Use Action Team related to parking. Specifically, they stated that “much of the resistance [to parking reform] stems from a lack of understanding on how parking (especially free parking) impacts cities”, and they asked for educational resources on parking reform and its relationship to land use/economic viability. So I’ve been going through my Land Use Action Team archives, and I’ve found much of the great work that LUAT did over a period of more than three years.
Motivated by Alison’s question, I’d like to re-convene the Land Use Action Team to talk about opportunities related to community education on parking reform, as well as to bring the team up to date on the City’s work related to Climate-friendly and Equitable Communities.
Please fill out the following poll by Thursday, April 10: https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/dy29J1ne (I apologize for offering just one date on the poll, but that’s the only date on my calendar that currently has a lot of open times in the next couple of weeks.)
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Annette

I live within the traditional homeland of the Ampinefu Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya …Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations at either Grand Ronde or Siletz. Today, the Kalapuya live on tribal lands or tribal-ceded lands throughout the region. Many Kalapuya are active members of the sovereign nations of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde or the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians. Kalapuya culture is alive.
