Hi,

I attended a webinar entitled "How Clearer Thinking about Public Transit Can Enrich
Our Communities and Our Lives" on March 21 and the recording is well worth watching.
It turns out to speak as much about land use planning and zoning as about transit
and it is worth considering as we plan the future of Corvallis land use and design.
The video, and others about city planning and design, can be viewed at

https://planning.maryland.gov/Pages/OurEngagement/Webinars/planning-webinars-archive.aspx?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term=

You can enable closed captioning, and/or view the video at increased speeds to save
time.

Thank you, Dave.

I've heard through the grapevine that the state government has essentially done away with most of our local land use planning and zoning requirements related to housing. Do you agree with that assessment?

The webinar discusses issues that have not been dealt with at all by the state or
local government but that make a major difference in the cost and usability of mass
transit, so it's well worth viewing.
