Sharing this behalf of colleagues at Lancaster University.

We are seeking a Senior Research Associate to work on an exciting new EPSRC-funded project, Design Principles and Responsible Innovation for a Sustainable Digital Economy (PARIS-DE), funded under their Digital Economy: Sustainable Digital Society call.  The PARIS-DE project will ensure that the carbon emissions associated with digital technologies are aligned with the Paris Agreement of limiting global temperature increases to 1.5 degrees Celsius – ensuring we can benefit from digital technology without exceeding planetary boundaries. This will be achieved by developing a design framework for sustainable ICT – drawing on responsible innovation principles coupled with a systematic capture and documentation of environmental impacts and potential rebound effects.  This is a highly exciting and rewarding role aiming to conduct real world research whilst ensuring the Senior Research Associate can develop their independent and leading research profile internationally. A PhD in a related area is required to be eligible for these positions. Successful candidates must have a track record of high-quality publications in areas of relevance to the project and the willingness to undertake ambitious and challenging research.

Paris-DE is a three year project to start in September 2021 and further details can be found at: https://hr-jobs.lancs.ac.uk/Vacancy.aspx?ref=A3413.

Potential candidates are strongly encouraged to contact Prof Gordon Blair (Principle Investigator, g.b...@lancaster.ac.uk) to informally discuss any enquiries and their suitability for the role.
