Hi SCHers, hope you've been enjoying the start of Spring!
Here are a few events we've got coming up.  Hope you all can make it!

Miller Community Center Earth Day Celebration
Thursday, April 18, 4:30pm - 8:00pm
Miller Community Center
330 19th Avenue East
Celebrate Earth Day by sharing plants, seeds, tools, supplies, yard art, and knowledge! Everyone is welcome, especially new gardeners. You do not need to bring anything, but reusable or recyclable containers will help to carry away the booty. Also, if you'd like to sew a shirt into a bag with SCH, please bring an old tank top to upcycle. We will also be screening tshirts with the SCH logo, if you'd like to bring an old tshirt and give it a little flair! Alternatively, we can turn those old t-shirts into bags too!
FamilyWorks will also be running a supply drive to collect shelf-stable foods (especially those high in protein, such as peanut butter and canned tuna), bus tickets, feminine hygiene products, sample-sized toiletries, and diapers.

Tool Library Visioning Meeting
Sunday, April 21, 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Braeburn Condominiums
1410 E. Pine St.
Have you ever needed a tool for one quick and simple project, and didn't want to buy it? Or what about a really expensive tool that you just can't afford? Tool Library to the rescue! Join us as we plan to build our own tool library in Capitol Hill! We need your help to make it happen!
We'll be finalizing a grant proposal as well as discussing the topics covered in the following document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/18dZ40SxJaKrgKP2qW2YozUFkbFeMsvcXPjZFqBlotrc/edit
And don't worry - even if you've never had any experience grant writing, this is an easy one to start on!
We'd love to have you join us with your ideas and your energy!
Please meet us at Braeburn 1410 E. Pine St. There are two doors, so make sure you go to the 1410 door, where you can get buzzed in (there will be a sign at the door) with instructions.)

Pollinator Pathway Work Party
Sunday, May 5, 11:00am - 4:00pm
Columbia St. More accurate location details to come.
Pollinating insects are in crisis, with populations plummeting across the U.S. The work that these tiny animals do to sustain plants and food crops– usually working out-of-sight and out-of-mind– is critical to not just their survival but our own. So
get your gardening gloves on and enjoy the sunshine (fingers crossed) as we help transform standard planting strips of grass into pollinator-friendly gardens.

Pollinator Pathway Walking Tour
Sunday, May 5, 11:00am - 4:00pm
Columbia St. More accurate location details to come.
For those who can't make the work party on Sunday, or if you just love the project so much you want to visit again, we'll have a walking tour to explore the work that's been done and enjoy the beauty of the various pollinators in our area.
