Subject: SAS Table at the Bazaar
Hey Steph,
Since we weren't able to have a big meeting with all the people who are signed up to man your table, could you forward this email on to the team and make sure they are all on board? I am attaching our edited google doc, i had to add some things to it and finish it up. I am also outlining the basic things that SAS members volunteering at the bazaar need to know.
1. This document will be printed and at your table for anyone sitting there to reference when people approach them and ask questions.
2. The table will be covered in butcher paper so that as people come over they can write things that they think about fair trade, things that they think are important talking points, interesting facts that they know, etc. It may be most effective to doodle a few things yourselves as the day is getting started so that people get it and know why the table is covered in paper! Also, as people come over you should encourage them to write something on it, explain to them why it is important to 'talk about it', and spark conversation with them, hopefully holding their attention long enough to get your message across.
3. There will also be a bowl on your table with conversation starters folded up. When people come over, invite them to choose one out of the bowl, read it, and decide what their response would be. On this document (attached below), there are the 'right' answers to use as a guide. However, obviously there is not one right answer.
4. In general, your goal should be to spark conversation, and inspire the people visiting your table to do the same when they leave the bazaar.
If you guys have any other ideas to add, or want to make a poster/other materials for your table, that would be GREAT.
Also, if you are confused on any of these topics, dont feel like you could answer people's questions confidently, you can definitely email me (lauren...@gmail.com<mailto:lauren...@gmail.com>), anyone else on the bazaar team, or aask someone the day of. Everyone working at the bazaar will have a bazaar T-shirt as well as a name-tag.
Let me know what you think of this, what you would change, etc. Its going to be great!!
Hope you had a good thanksgiving, and are getting excited for the bazaar in THREE DAYS!!!!!!!!!
Bazaar love,
Lauren Jayson
