REG Windpower has now submitted a planning application to Stafford Borough Council for three turbines, measuring 130m to the tip of the blades.

1.      You can make comments online at Stafford Borough Council’s website

Visit http://www.staffordbc.gov.uk/planning-public-access

and enter the reference number 14/20653/FUL to have your say

2.      Email plan...@staffordbc.gov.uk and mark FAO Mr J Martin.

Don’t forget to quote reference number 14/20653/FUL

3.      You can support the project by writing to the address below, again quoting ref

14/20653/FUL: Planning Dept. Stafford Borough Council, Civic Centre, Riverside, Stafford, ST16 3AQ

4.      Copy your message to the local councillors:

Cllr Smith: rms...@staffordbc.gov.uk

Cllr Kelly : ake...@staffordbc.gov.uk

Cllr Williamson : kwill...@staffordbc.gov.uk

Or by post C/o the Council: Civic Centre, Riverside, Stafford ST16 3AQ

5.      Spread the word: If you have friends, family or  colleagues that also support the project, encourage them to show their support as well.

We appreciate you will have your own reasons to support renewable energy, but I have included some key facts about the project below:

·         The three wind turbines will generate – on average – 18,100,000kWh of safe, clean renewable electricity every year to help the fight against climate change

·         This is equivalent to the annual electricity needs of around 4,200 households

·         A Community Fund based on £30,000 every year to support good causes locally throughout the wind farm’s working life

·         Separate to the community fund, REG is working with Abundance Generation who allow individuals and communities to invest in renewable energy projects in their local area from as little as £5 and share in the financial benefits over the life of the project. More information is available at: www.abundancegeneration.com

·         Wind is a free, renewable source of energy

·         Wind turbines can help secure our energy security and reduce the UK’s dependency on any one supplier, country or technology.

REG Windpower’s community relations team are available to answer any further queries you may have, whether about the project or the associated Community Fund.
