IHTEC�S DRAFT IDEAS FOR THE
INVOLVEMENT OF SCHOOLS

This can be done everywhere in the world.
Contact the following: Minister of Education, Deputy Ministers of
Education, School Boards Association, School Principals Association,
Teachers Association, Phi Delta Kappa International etc.
International Day of Peace: Inter-cultural Arts Celebration for
Schools.
Before the day have a peace torch run from school to school in every
district. This must represent all the cultures in your school and
community.

ON INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE, 21 SEPTEMBER ANNUALLY
Venue: Largest football arena available to hold enough students in
years 7-9. Some venues might hold more children. Other such venues could
be: Botanical Gardens, or the Grounds of your Government House.
Alternative Venue: Hold a whole school event around your peace pole, or
in your International School Peace Garden,.
Each student must participate either in the songs or chants.
For individual School events: these to be conducted on centre stage, with
school rock bands, dance groups, and other groups involving the
Arts.
Program:
1.
All
participants to learn to sing 3 peace songs to be sung at the event.

Let there be peace on earth
b.
Create a Cha Cha Cha type song, using the word -
Sustainability
c.
Other
2.Each student to
know how to do a football wave, at the right time.
3.Use lots of
color, maybe at sunset use torches.
4.Each student to
hold a colored cardboard to create the words Peace and
Sustainability.
5.Every school and
/ or culture represented, to create an original performance around what
they are doing towards sustainability in their school program.
Additional sustainability ideas:
6.Use drink
bottles that don�t contain plastics.
7.
Coloured items that can be recycled and don�t leave
garbage. ie: No balloons
