Enter State: Wisconsin & you can review various banks
e.g.
Associated Bank --gets a D
Bank of Wausau gets D-
Community First Bank, Rosholt D-
Key Savings, WI Rapids C-
Marshfield Saving D+
Pineries Bank C+
Portage Cty Bank C-
River Cities C-
Wood Trust C+
they don't review credit unions on that site.
b.g.
I see M&I Bank and AnchorBank don't get very high marks either.
It is interesting that M&I Bank does a lot of business with the local
potato farmers.

Yeh, you gotta love Amherst. I always thought that "Tomorrow River
valley" had such a hopeful, uplifting sound to it.
Does anyone know if there are credit unions that lend to small farm
ventures, in this area? It seems to me that most credit unions are
stuck in the model where the main form of loans they make are for
consumer goods -- house loans and car loans -- but little money goes
to small biz. Or am I off-base in thinking this?
The notion that "your house is your biggest investment" may finally
get a long-overdue retirement now that people have learned that houses
can go down in value, too. If they're really serious about creating
millions heaped upon millions of these "new jobs," someone on Planet
Bank will have to start lending money to small biz ventures such as,
for example, small farms. The Slow Money idea, brought local.
Just wondering.
