2 very important things!

Just want to draw your attention to two very important things coming up in the life of CU:

 

1. Firstly, next week on Wed 18th June, we are holding an outdoor prayer meeting, "Pray for US" next to library square and inviting all Christians at the University.  Whether you regularly attend CU or not, please make every effort to be there!!  As well as celebrating Jesus and committing our university to God with a united voice, we really feel God has put this on our hearts to do and we are sure that He will show up and it will be a powerful event.

I think it is a bold move for Christians at the University and it would be great if it was really well supported.  It will last just an hour, there will be some songs, some prayers and Gavin Ashenden, the University Chaplain, will be encouraging us to be united as God's people at Sussex.  It's really exciting to be doing something like this and we pray that God will move powerfully on the day and as a result in the future at our uni.  Please come and invite all your Christian friends as well whether they are connected to the CU or not.

 

2.  Secondly, we really need lots of people to get involved in Freshers' Week in September.  We are going to be making teams for the various activities so please think about what you'd like to do to help.  The main focus are:  helping students move in, preparing/serving free lunches, manning the CU freshers fair table, taking people to churches, flyering for CU events, putting up CU posters, doing questionnaire evangelism and inviting people to the CU!

This is not a, "it would be good if you could help", this is a "we NEED YOU to help the CU put on a great freshers week!!!!"  It's always a lot of fun so please please please make every effort to get stuck in.  We'll be contacting many of you individually over the next two weeks about signing up for teams so please think about what you would best like to do and get praying for next term!!

 

I'll give some more info at CU tomorrow which will be a sharing night when we reflect on the year that has gone and turn our attention to what God has got planned for September!!
