I hope you have all had a great week, and thankyou and congratulations
for being involved in making money, some way or another, for Jubilee.
I'm not sure of the exact sum but it seems like we've made quite a lot
of money. When it comes to smoothies we've made a profit of 150
pounds, the prayer angels have raised 100 pounds by being tied
together for the day, and that's excluding the many sponsership forms
which have been completed! So congratulations CU!!
Anyway, as for this coming week, on Monday it'll be our main meeting
in the Meeting House, at 7pm. This week there'll be stawberries and
many other nice little treats so make sure you don't miss out! Do feel
free to come at 6.30 though to help set up and pray!
On Tuesday it's the super duper Prayer Breakfast, at 8 am in Howard House.
On Wednesday there's first a time to pray at 11 am in Falmer 126.
Don't feel like if you go there you need to pray the whole hour, if
you want to pray for 10mn or whatever that's fine!
At 2pm it's Prayer Angels, where the CU girls meet up for prayer and
chatting. That's in Jess Howards' house, 37 Park Village.
On Friday there's Student 2 Student, a super event where someone gets
to give a little talk, so do come along to support the student but
it's also a good opportunity to invite friends along.
Finally, but not least, the boys have a Bible study at 1pm in Matt
Hodsons' house, 43 Park Village. They then play football as from 2 in
Stanmer Park.
Last Monday a man representing Jubilee explained what being the salt
of the earth really means. In the past salt wasn't used for
flavouring, as many of us believe, but it's more common use was in the
fields. People would put salt in their fields to help their crops
grow. But if the salt had been mixed with dirt and gravel it wasn't of
any use as the crops wouldn't grow properly.
With the same trail of thoughts in mind, when Jesus says: "You are the
salt of the earth" (Matthew 5. 13), we enable things to grow. Yet when
we are mixed with the world, no good can come of us.
On that note, have a great week
x
