Dear all,

Apologies for cross-posting.

This is to remind you of the next open meeting TOMORROW open to staff, students and unions. We will be discussing the latest and future plans for the campaign, so we need your questions and comments! Are people you know aware of what's going on? Do they feel concerned? Come Friday 19th October, 1pm, Arts A5.

The momentum is growing, so make sure you get involved before it's too late. The privatisaton of education is an international problem that affects all sectors of the university. Therefore, the potential to resist it is huge! Have a look at these articles:

http://www.counterpunch.org/2012/10/08/the-disappearance-of-public-intellectuals/ (scroll down past funding appeal)
http://anticapitalists.org/2012/10/14/what-future-for-education/

Also, hope you got to see the latest issue of the student's bulletin, it's awesome! Have a look for it on campus, and check the next email. Word of mouth is the best way to get a campaign running, so please circulate and talk about it.

Finally, don't forget the TUC demo this saturday in London. There will be several contingents from the different organisations and societies that support it, and a broader Sussex Uni contingent. Unfortunately, subsidised train tickets have sold out, but you can probably still get a cheaper advance ticket. Or, meet at the train station with everyone else and travel in groups of 4 to get big discounts.

All the best,

Maia
