Media Collective Looking for 10th member

Hey guys,

I am participating in a media collective made up of current SFU Film students and alumni. There are 9 of us so far, but we need a 10th to cover the rent for our new space. The details are below if anyone is interested!

What is the Media Collective?

The media collective is a way for us to pool our resources. Initially this solely involves a common rented space where we can all work on individual projects as well as collaborate and get feedback. Within time we hope it will evolve into a organic creative group that helps it's member make good work great!

Who is involved?

A group of 9 individual filmmakers and artists who are making the next step in their professional career. Most of us have connection to Simon Fraser University fine arts programs. We are looking for one more final 10th member.

Where is the space?

We have rented out a large 650 sqft office space at cambie and cordova, right in-between SFU Harbour Center and the new Woodwards development. It is a single very large corner room on the second floor with huge south and west facing windows, wood floors and brick walls. It is safe and secure and every member is given a key card and a key tied to their name. 

Why are we doing this?

Some of us are tired of working out of our bedrooms while some of us need a professional space to meet with clients and have auditions and some of us want a bright open environment to stoke our creative engines. Lastly and certainly not least, we want to recreate the amazing community of artists that we had at SFU that allowed us to take our collectives work to a totally different level.

When are we moving in?

We have paid the damage deposit and are all set to move into our new home on June 1st,  2010. We have a 6 month lease and are asking everyone for a 3 month commitment to allow the collective to be as awesome as possible! We really want to find our 10th member before june 1st.

How are we paying for this?

Every member pays the same amount regardless of how much they use the space. That includes $27 (one time key fee) + $155 (monthly x3) + $126 (Damage deposit) = $618 for the first 3 months

Other

We are in the process of drawing up some community standards which will help us make this place off the hook! Everyones input is greatly valued.
