Greetings,
i made a plugin for the FLAC/AAC streams of Mother Earth Radio including metadata and album art. I adapted @marco79cgn 's radioParadise plugin, thanks for paving the way to flac streaming!
Pull request is done, not yet published to test mode store. If anyone is interested to try out, feedback is appreciated.

Earth Explorer Plugin
A plugin to allow OpenCPN to link with Google Earth. Almost a simulator or is it a game?
In addition to driving a simulated vessel across the chart of OpenCPN, the vessel can be displayed on Google Earth. The plugin controls the GE camera position. The autopilot can be used. A sample GPX is included. This is a route through the new locks at the southern end of the Panama Canal. The default model to drive, is a panamax container ship.

This plugins allows you to access all Nimbo earth tile map services. Use of this plugin requires the creation of a free Nimbo account at

Users can then log directly into the Nimbo QGIS plugin with their ID/password, or QGIS or directly use the API key available in their Nimbo account at

All of Nimbo's monthly layers - RGB, NDVI, Radar and Infrared - will then be available along the following timelines :
- From October 2019 to present : Europe, Northern Africa and Middle East
- From March 2022 to present : All of the above + the USA
- From February 2023 to present : Global coverage

(Please note that radar layer does not provide extensive global coverage as of 2022, as one of Sentinel-1 constellation's satellite went out of service by end-2021-early 2022)

Note that QGIS projects containing EE map layers can be also saved, in this case, the code required to connect to EE is stored in a QGIS project and is used to re-initialize these layers when the project is loaded. Currently, this works only if ee_plugin is installed in the QGIS where these layers are loaded.

Open Finder and double clicking on this file /Applications/Python 3.6/Install Certificates.command. This path may vary depending on how QGIS was installed (Homebrew, macports, native). Then restart QGIS.

Unlock the world from the comfort of your screen with the Earth plugin for ChatGPT. Ideal for travelers, geography enthusiasts, or anyone curious about the world, this plugin allows you to generate map images based on specific coordinates or locations. Customize the zoom, tilt, bearing, and style to get the exact view you want.

Up until now, the process of developing plugins has had a couple speed bumps that our team has wanted to solve. The main one being that there was no real-time feedback during the development process, so developers have to repeatedly update and re-install the plugin. Depending on the scope of your plugin, this tool can help a lot.

We will continue to find ways to improve and add to the Plugin Editor to make the plugin development process more streamlined. We also welcome your suggestions and ideas to help us, so please go to Discord or GitHub and start a discussion!

Like every other computer program you're going to run into problems. Thank God CAD-Earth has Hector! In the past 5 years or more we've encountered a gliche and Hector is there to bail us out! 10 Stars for a hard working man! Thank you Hector!

Application works fine, but in order to use it, I have to block all Google applications from updating. Please fix that. This is not an acceptable solution in my case. Technical support response time quite good.

Hi. CAD-Earth V6.1.4 is now available. This update has the following improvements: -Works with any Google Earth version installed, including the most recent. -Has the option to select the Cesium terrain provider (www.cesium.com) to calculate terrain point elevations. -It can get images directly from the Google Image Server. You don't have to install Google Earth 7.3.2 64-bit and rename the file GoogleUpdate.exe unless you select the option to get point elevations and images directly from Google Earth instead of Cesium Terrain Server and the Google Image Server.

I've downloaded the latest CAD-Earth v5.1.24 and everything works fine now. The image registration issues have been corrected and now I can work with Google Earth Pro 32 and 64-bit versions. Installation is simplified and is no longer necessary to restart my computer after installation. The support ticket system is working and I can chat with technical support at their website.

I downloaded the trial and had some small issues regarding the import of images from Google Earth, which turned out to be a fault on my part because I didnt select the correct coordinate system to start with and had my units in meters instead of feet. Technical support replied promptly to my email and even gave me remote support via Teamviewer and in a few minutes all was resolved.

I have tired virtually all of the functions, importing from Google Earth and exporting to Google Earth and have found them to work exactly as expected. Watching the app access Google Earth, import an image and then trim the image to my boundary polyline automatically is nice.I was able to export objects to AutoCAD objects to Google Earth effortlessly and then create a kmz to send to my client with the objects nicely overlaid.I'm very pleased with this app and have purchased a permanent license. The license activation could be made a little bit smoother, but the functionality deserves all 5 stars. Also full marks for tech support as I received a timely answer to a question that I submitted.

Tried to import a google image; the dialogue is fairly simple to understand, but after going through the steps, I got a picture with a blue background with "evaluation copy" written all over it. I get the watermark, since it is a trial, but both times I tried it making sure I had the right coordinate system, the background was always blue, which makes me believe I hit water both times, instead of where I was supposed to be.

These models are intended to provide background context for scenes(for example, a mountain range in the distance that changes theeffective time of sunrise/sunset) or as a full scale simulation ofthe Earth itself.

The "EarthGrid" plugin is an example of using the Earth model toprovide visual indicators of location and size, drawn on the WGS84ellipsoid. It sets up a system of lines at major and minor intervalsaround the ellipsoid based on the local latitude and longitude.Inputs to the model allow the user to dictate the size and colorof the lines (using a simple built in 24-bit RGB mechanism).

The number of major lines is described by how many lines fall within360 degrees, so a count of 72 would draw lines at every 5 [deg] and21,600 at every arcminute. Minor lines are defined in the same way,but relative to the major line delta, i.e. a count of 5 wouldpartition each 5 [deg] major line spacing into single degree intervaland 60 minor lines for the arcminute setup would give arcseconds(shown below).

The Earth model is not affected indirectly by scenes within thesimulation, i.e. grid lines will not be shadowed by a scene andwill always be visible if they are illuminated by the sun. Additionally, only rays that miss defined scenes will ever be tested for intersectionwith the Earth model so it is possible to have a scene that is belowthe Earth model and not worry about it obstructing the geometry ofthe scene.

One of the common solutions to this problem is to place a "scene" in a geometry list (glist) and to then instance that scene multiple times in a grid (3x3,5x5,etc..). This is effective, but has some significant limitations. First, because of the way hierarchical instancing is handled in DIRSIG5, each scene copy may come at a non-trivial cost in terms of memory. Second, unless careful attention is paid to the translation and rotation of the scene copies, they are expanded in a tangential plane that begins to deviate from true Earth curvature as the distance increases.

Because the cyclic Earth model just moves the ray around, there is no change in illumination conditions across the globe (i.e. the sun location is always set to the origin scene location). Despite this, it is still possible to cast shadows from one scene to the next, as shown here:

While not part of the Earth model plugins, and in fact a separate set of plugins altogether, the cloud model plugins are closely related. They allow the user to describe clouds over very large areas, potentially over the entire globe, in the same way that the Earth model plugins allow modeling the full Earth.

The fast clouds model plugin is an analog to the simple approachto modeling clouds taken in theFastCloud2 demo.Instead of creating a reflective/transmissive cloud layer in ahorizontal plane over a smaller scene, the fast clouds plugin allowsthe user to to define a similar layer over a lat/lon box (equivalentto the "latlon_bounds" option for the EarthGrid model).
