Science Week -  Design Your Own Event Competition

Do you have an idea for an exciting, new fundraiser? Do you want to see that idea become a reality? Your Science Undergraduate Society is providing you with the unique opportunity to integrate your event with Science Week 2008. Email Jamil Rhajiak vpx...@gmail.com with your proposals by Nov. 25!
All submissions MUST include:
-Names, program, and year of students involved
-Brief Description of the event, its theme, and prospective impact on students
-Timeline of events
-Prospective budget for the event
-Why this event would help promote science on campus

Interfaculty Boat Cruise: A Faculty Affair

 - When: Friday, Nov. 23, 6:30-10:30

 - Where: 750 Pacific Blvd - Plaza of Nations close to BC Place and Science World skytrains

 - Theme: Dress like your faculty

 - Price: $20 a ticket, or early bird special until Nov. 10 for $15

SUS Portfolio Reform
Council and the Code and Policy committee have identified a need to make the organization more efficient, by overhauling the organizational chart, and bureaucratic control structure. Stay tuned for updates regarding the committee's progress.

Tupper Homework Club - Volunteer Tutors Needed!

Sir Charles Tupper Secondary school is an inner-city school located in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood in Vancouver. Many students who attend the school are part of socially and economically marginalized communities.

We are seeking university students to volunteer for a couple hours a week, mostly tutoring Math, Science, and English. The Homework club runs Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4pm - 7pm.

BPP Club Mentorship Program

 The Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Physiology club is currently looking for 1st and 2nd year students to join the program.  The goal of the program is to build a student network where 3rd and 4th year students, who will act as the mentors, to assist 1st and 2nd year science students with different aspects of their academic life, and introduce various opportunities that are available on campus. Come to our first BPP mentorship social event of the year at 5:00pm on Wednesday, Nov 7th in Woodward 1.  If you have any concerns or questions,

The Psychology Students Association is holding a Wine and Cheese Event this Friday (Nov 2) at 4:30pm in Suefield Lounge in the Kenny Building. Come out and meet the psych prof's, grad students and other PSA members.

Congratulations! The Science faculty won the interfaculty Shinerama Bling Bling competition, raising $337.50 for cystic fibrosis research. Thanks to everyone for their efforts and donations.
