Bottom of Belligundi Falls, Karani & Meghani Falls

 About the Trek
We have planned a wonderful Trek Programme & is one of the unexplored terrains in the woods of Western Ghats, Pristine Forest Area, near Kollur.  This Trek involves plain Forest walk fairly steep climbing of 3 to 4 kms from Belligundi Bottom to Karani & little climb to Meghani & 7 Kms of descend to Kollur.  The Trek starts from Attodi near Byndoor & gradual slope climb to the bottom of  Belligundi Falls.  Then we reach KARANI village 3 to 4 kms of steep climb & 5 kms plain forest walk.  We will be visiting another Meghani falls unknown to many trekkers. We expect to see some of the best Flora & fauna unique to this place & no where found in the world.  If you are lucky, it will be a treat to watch some animals.  It is also a paradise for Bird watchers, wild life and nature lovers.  About 250 speeches of birds witnessed in this area.

Friday Night
Start from Bangalore by 6.30 PM. Dinner at midway restaurant, & Night Travel by Tempo Traveler from Bangalore to Byndoor   
24.12.2011
Saturday
Reach Byndoor by 8 AM & in the same vehicle reach Attodi.  4 Kms Trek from here will reach Belligundi Falls bottom.  Enjoy & get wet till Lunch is prepared on site.  Post Lunch at 1 PM, heading towards KARANI 9 Kms of Trek involved.  Expected to reach Karani by 5 PM. & Night halt with dinner & try to arrange local folk dance if possible.

Sunday
After breakfast, proceed towards Meghani village and falls 7 kms trek.  After Lunch,
9 Kms Trek down to Kollur & expected to reach by 5.30 PM.  Visit Kollur Temple & Start towards our home sweet home night travel to Bangalore

Monday
Reach Bangalore within 7 AM.
 Important Note:-
What to Wear  Shorts / track pants and T Shirt.  Please avoid white & Red  /  Red Tinted clothes during this trek,  which irritates Elephants.
Max group Size The Max group size for this trek is 24 only including the organisers. 
participants please note that trek route/place of trek may be modified or altered depend on any unforeseen circumstances/as per the advice of forest dept officials and in this regard final decision rests with the organisers taking into a/c safety and interest of the participants.
Fitness to trek: Total Trek distance of 29 kms is involved in this trek.  I think our group has done many treks like this before. Please check your fitness by yourself and decide before confirmation.
Littering/polluting / anti- social behavior are strictly prohibited during the trek.  Plastics, bottles, food packing, etc should not be thrown. Water in mountain streams should not be polluted using shampoo or soaps.

 Food Programme
23.12.2011 -  Dinner at way side restaurant – self sponsored or on their own.
24.12.2011 – Breakfast way side restaurant – self sponsored or on their own
                     Lunch –  Simple good vegetarian Food will be prepared at Belligundi falls bottom & taken care
                     Dinner – Food will be prepared  at Karani including  Evening Snacks  & Tea.
25.12.2011 – Breakfast – at Karani will be taken care
                     Lunch – at Meghani  - will be taken care.
                     Dinner – at Kollur or way side restaurant - self sponsored or on thier own
Totally the group will take care 2 Lunch, 1 dinner & 1 breakfast.
 
 
Must Carry Items
Please travel as light as possible. The lighter you travel the easier your trek. All participants must carry following items:
1) Good walking shoes. ( avoid old shoes cause the soles are likely to peel off)
2) 2 x 1 litre water bottle filled with drinkable water
3) Good back-pack to carry luggage, food, water & miscellaneous items
4) LED torch with battery backup
5) Spoon & Bowl
6) Drivers -Bring your original licence and vehicle documents.
7) Extra Cash Rs 500/- in hand, apart from Trekking + travel charges.
8) Extra plastic covers to wrap things if it rains. (we will not stop trekking even if there is a heavy downpour)
9) A Bottle of Amruthanjan Strong & Salt to combat leech bite if encountered.
10) Personal Medicines / items if any along with energy drinks, chocolates, toiletry, etc.,
11) Sleeping Bag/foam mat with light wt. Bed sheet. We will try & provide grass knitted mat at Karani.
