Wow. I just discovered that there are a few songs floating around
that are the original multitracks in individual WAV files.

A few of them are available on 'noid (selections from Sgt Pepper,
Bohemian Rhapsody).

I've found a few more using a couple of other "usual suspects" torrent
sites - some Marvin Gaye selections, Stevie Wonders' "Supersition"

Here's a thread on the quadraphonic forum that discusses it:

Does anyone know where I can get more???

I have my doubts as to the veracity of some of those multi-tracks
floating around. Some are (really well-done) channel isolations,
extracted in much the same was as is done when performing an up-mix.
Some have been isolated from single channels of commercially released
surround albums.

There are artists that release their "bed tracks" for remixing. I've
done some remixes for Jonathan Coulton (which I need to upload to TPB
at some point). Others have done remixes of Nine Inch Nails stuff,
since Trent Reznor finally clued in that some fans can do better work
with his songs than some professional remixers. The surround version
of "With Teeth" is particularly well-done.

I can say without a doubt that these are indeed multitracks and not
isolations. I have these:

Beatles - A Day In The Life (4 tracks)
Beatles - Sgt Pepper (4 tracks)
Beatles - With A Little help (4 tracks)
Beatles - She's Leaving Home (4 tracks)
Doobie Brothers - Long Train Runnin' (16 tracks)
Marvin Gaye - Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing (8 tracks)
Marvin Gaye - Grapevine (8 tracks separate plus L/R)
Marvin Gaye - Mercy Mercy Me (16 tracks)
Marvin Gaye - Ain't No Mountain High (8 tracks)
Marvin Gaye - What's Going On (16 tracks)
Stevie Wonder - Superstition (16 tracks)
Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry (23 tracks)
Bob Marley - Is This Love (23 tracks)
Def Leppard - Rock Of Ages (22 tracks)
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody (22 tracks)
Nirvana - Polly (24 tracks)
Eagles - Take It Easy (9 tracks) (This is an outtake and not the
original version)

I have the Marvin Gaye and Queen and they're the real deal. I played
around with "What's Going on" and tried to make my own acoustic mix of
the song. These are definitely a lot of fun to mess around with in
Audition, but sure take a lot of time if you're going to try and make
a proper mix. I'm sure I'll get better at it the more I try it.
Romanotrax, I'd sure like to hear the Nirvana "Polly" multi's, any
chance of putting them up on RS/the blog or pointing to where you
found them?

It would be cool if people posted some of their mixes for the rest of
us to hear. I'd really like to hear "Polly" in 5.1.

Apparently, there are some more Nirvana multi-track masters available:

I wonder who leaked all of these.

Hi I know this is a necro post/reply, but by chance would you still have those multitracks? If so, I would love it if you would share some with me. Thanks

I think they were originally on RuTracker, may want to look there.
