Hi to all,
I´m looking for a networkplayer, most for playback audiofiles ( and images too) in surroundsound.
It should playback viedeos too, maybe 3D, 4K is not nessesary (up to now).
I´ve (most) FLACs, WAVs and some DSFs (DSD) on my NAS, besides them some ISOs of DVD-As and SACDs.
I want to connect them via HDMI with my AVR (YAMAHA).
Does anybody a good idea or tipp for me?
I´ve a DUND HD solo LITE, but I´m not so much satisfied...

Even, if I work on my PC, I do it in this way too.

But there is not so a good GUI  for foobar2000 and this device

should be used not only by me, if you know, what I mean. J

That´s why I was looking for a "stand alone player", with a RC,

standing by or in my furniture near the TV and AVR.

Because I don´t live alone, I ´ve to get a "woman-like" thing.

I know what you mean...you're "womanized".
Does your woman know how to use Kodi?
Or,you can teach her?

If YES..you could use Kodi....when Kodi wants to play a 3d iso file, for example.it should play with "external player"-power dvd,
Similar for music files-the external player would be foobar..
Do a "research" find a "playercorefactory" file and edit it for your needs'

Thank you for your tips …

NO, my wife don´t know, how to use KODI and I´m a bad teacher too. L

I, for myself, have to learn the kodi-handling, I´ve often heard about kodi

and I tried it but it was not so amazed about the capability of handling ISOs (DVD-A & SACD),

so that I stopped further searching. Maybe I should start it again.

I tried it with LINUX but I think, it doesn´t matter, weather you use LINUX or WINDOWS as OS.

I don't quite understand what's wrong with the Dune ? I don't think you will find a media player that can handle SACD and DVDA format together. For that you will still need another player. My Dune plays up to 5.1 in 24/192 FLAC and all Blu-rays. I rip the DVDA's and SACD's to 5.1 FLAC and the ones I bought or burned are played in a cheap Pioneer multiplayer . ( DVD, DVDA, SACD, DTS CD and stereo ones.

Try AIMP www.aimp.ru. It plays DSD natively, fully supports WASAPI, supports 4K monitors and copes well with large file quantities. It also has  the remote option using Android, although I've not tried it. It is also free.

Hi Lokks,
there is nothing wrong Witz the dune, BUT as you mentioned too, there is something missing.
I want to store my physical data store as it is and not rip before.
And that is not possible, wether with a DVD-A nor with a SACD (multichannel part).
I could not find such a player.
For physical data I have my OPPO 93, its with older firmware, what can handle DVD-A ISO,
BUT not over network,  and SACD-ISOS non at all.

I think (for me), industrie  is not willing to do that (noch ideal why).
BUT it would be possible,  I belive.

Razi,by using SMC(Kodi) and foobar your iso audio problems (sacd,dvd-a) are gone!
For br-a,br iso,br 3d you' ll need power dvd too on your system.
Tested myself last night.

If I could find a way to actualy SEE cue files when navigating with Kodi,I can fix playlist loading to foobar from inside Kodi and continuous playback for individual flac files...

I want to thank Lokks for turning me onto AIMP, I think it's a fantastic player!  I have been using Foobar2000 for quite a while now and I really like that, too.  But it seems that AIMP has a more modern interface and I was able to get it up and running in just a few minutes.  And to me, programmer by trade, that is the sign of a well-developed piece of software.

I'm gonna spend the next few daze checking it out and customizing the interface to suit my needs.  It is simply *amazing* how good free software can be.  I want t thank the program's author(s), they have done a very good job with this software!

Happy New Year, y'all !!
