Hi all

I've just added a new conversion to the "Dreaming-Spires" blog.

This was a special request from a member here via Lokks. Although there had been a very good conversion of the double cd done last year, as this was a high quality, and clean, 24/96 rip of the LP version that had been posted on AVAX, i agreed to do this conversion on the grounds there may be an improvement in sound quality.

This is another "Audiophile" disc, no menu's and phase correction added in an attempt to improve imaging, etc.

if you download this, i would appreciate some feedback postings here.

before i make the changes public (hopefully in modified scripts), i'd like to know if the changes made to the decoding are noticable, good or bad!

This show is fantastic,
I have the previous version and I wonder how this would compare-
Thanks for adding the DVD-V option!

If it's anywhere as nice as the Santana Miles LP, then I'm in for a treat!

Good day,

With no exposure as yet, do you use the blog as a staging area or do
special items remain available ONLY there?

Curious on the outside looking in. :)

Feel free to use the forum for anything relevant to what we are discussing.
The only real rules are that we try not to post any contentious links to
files etc, as there are other ways to address these such as Oxford Dickie's
blog and the 'Noid.
Unfortunately, we have already witnessed what happened to our old favourite
Mojave.

Good day,

Hi

With the ending of "Mojave", i had nowhere to make available my up coming Quad conversions, so i started "Archive" just for that purpose. But it soon became obvious that there was a need for what "Mojave" had started, so i started to add older conversions and a HDCD conversion. It was when Lokks added his HDCD conversions i decided to have two blogs.

"Archive" is just that, an archive of Quad/Surround/Hi-Res albums.

"Dreaming-Spires" is where i release my own conversions of Quad albums, the main object is to release albums that had never been done before, hence the "Ring Cycle" etc. Others use the "Noid" or "Avax". It's just that i liked the idea of how "Mojave" ran, so based them on it. Just my personal choice.

I believe the releases from "Dreaming-Spires" appear on "The Hub", which is another area the group has to release material.

Hope that clears it for you?

Since I have problems to post a comment on the other blog I'll do it
here.

Excellent conversion!! A must for every Quad collection.
One thing I want to propose: Forget for a moment that a source should
be untouched.
Give the front channels +0,5 dB and the bass overall +2 or +3 dB
(depend on your room size).
This should be NOT a criticism at all - only a trial for an alternate
listening experience.
Anyway thanks a lot for this great album.

I had problems being able to comment too at the other blog. But, for
the "Ra" Richard, and the Pharoah from a while back, thanks for this
particular style. As with Grill, would enjoy hearing more!
Cheers, Highlander
btw, the title in reference for this particular thread is my fav from
this guitarist...great to have this one in contrast to the SQ-CD
version.
