I’ve just noticed a problem when I try to extract the audio from a Quad conversion that’s presented as both DTS and AC3 on a DVDA. DVDAudio explorer and Audio extractor seem to output OK, and show as 4.0 but lack surround audio. (Wav, flac, mlp I don’t get an option for DTS/AC3 and none appear in the output folder) I can play the iso fine but ideally would just save the audio on NAS and simply select from there.

Am I missing some simple setting or do I need to use another app to differentiate the audio streams and output to files?

Make sure you try foobar with any related plug ins that need to be loaded in.   It can extract multichannel wav from DVDA typically.

DVDAudio Explorer works with the AUDIO_TS directory of the disc, which is never DTS or AC3, it is MLP/lossless (if it's a DVD-A disc -- otherwise it is empty).

For DVD Audio Extractor, if you want the ripped file to remain DTS or AC3 (i.e., not decoded) then you must choose 'Direct Demux' as the output format option.  If you want to decode it, choose, WAV or FLAC. Also always choose to save all channels (the default is stereo).

I think, you got a "normal" (Video-)DVD, not a DVD-Audio.

DVD-Audio-Explorer works only for DVD Audio.

But on DVD-Audio are no track consist DTS or  AC3!

On DVD-Audio is defined, that there are wether PCM (wav), AIFF or (the compressed) MLP.

For "normal" (Video-)DVD with DTS/AC3 try "DVD Audio Extractor",

There you can get these DTS/AC3-Sound-files.

Good luck!

One more question:

Where (in wich directory) are your files on the DVD located?

If they are under AUDIO_TS (*.AOB) this will be DVD-Audio-Files, consist of PCM/AIFF or (lossless compressed) MLP.

If they are located under VIDEO_TS (*.VOB) this will be (only lossy compressed!) Multi-Channel AC3/DTS-Files.

Thanks for the updates I received from the group....   all good information.       ALL OK NOW.

Found the Files using DVD Audio Extractor and browsing to the Video-TS folder manually.
