Increase in monthly support Over the last couple of months, we have seen some additional churches and individuals that have partnered with us bringing us to 51% of our needed support. We have heard of a few others that are also considering us for support. We know that God owns the cattle on a thousand hills and that His timing is perfect, so we continue to wait on Him. Let it snow Since it does not snow in Lima, our three kids (especially Amy) were hoping for a winter where they would be able to enjoy playing in the snow for possibly the last time before we go to Peru. God granted them this desire of their heart as we experienced a couple of storms within one week for a total of 35 inches. They all enjoyed some sledding, fort building and the snowball fights. Meetings in Pennsylvania and New York A blessing at one of the churches in Pennsylvania was to see some friends that we had not seen for several years as they made a special trip to see us at this church. The church presentation went well and we had the opportunity to spend some time after the service getting to know the pastor and his wife. In Pavilion, New York, we were blessed to spend Saturday evening at a church’s Valentine’s banquet and then be with them all day Sunday. The Lord allowed us to make it safely there and back though we did have to have our van battery jumped a couple of times before replacing it. God also held back a potential snow storm to make our traveling that much easier. Upcoming summer trip Over the last seven summers, I have taken teams of students with me to Lima. Due to our traveling and to not having enough practice time to put together a team, we will not be taking a team this year. However, as we have been able to secure a couple of cheap tickets, JD and I will still be going down from June 8th to July 1st. We will be involved in a few different ministry opportunities as well as doing some research on housing and local church partnership. A good stretch During one of my summer breaks in college, I was looking for a job and found a phone sales job. I lasted two hours. I have never enjoyed making phone calls and yet that is what God is having me do. God many times has a way of pulling us out of our comfort zone to stretch us. Similar to how an athlete (especially as they get older) should stretch prior to strenuous activity, so God stretches us to allow us to do more for Him. Prayer Requests
