Senior Network Engineer - Firewall role are responsible for executing the strategy set by architecture with a strong focus on firewall, routing, and networking technologies. They are responsible for designing, building, testing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing the infrastructure and operations in accordance with security policies and guidelines.

Duration: 12+ Months

Location: Atlanta, GA

• Individual must have 8  years of experience with managing and securing Checkpoint/Cisco equipment, including firewalls, switches, routers, and management appliances.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to think outside-the-box.

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred but not required)

• CCNA preferred but not required

Major Responsibilities

• Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing data security policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed

• Serve as a technical mentor and subject matter expert for the Information Security team with regards to firewalls.

• Conducts testing of network design prior to implementation and migration.

• Maintains technical expertise in areas of network interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.

• Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

• Works with configuration management to ensure compliance with architecture

• Strong problem-solving skills

• 8 or more years’ experience managing and securing Checkpoint/Cisco equipment, including firewalls, switches, routers, and management appliances. • Experience with development initiatives, business prioritization, project deployments and communications

• Ability to convey technical specifications in a business-friendly manner

• Excellent communication, problem solving, and data analysis skills
