I only watched most of the first disk so far, and whilst some of the depictions hold true in terms of prema others do not. E.g. the moment Lord Brahma realises that Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead and His Lord and master was very touching, and if I hadn't gained some composure I may still be crying now.However the moment when Krishna's mother questions whether she really loves Him or if it's just His yoga-maya I found to be distasteful. My heart tells me the Lord's mother would love Hm with all her heart for not only the fact that He is her darling little boy, but also all His excellent qualities as a regular person. As any mother does. Was it Draupadi or Queen Kunti who told their sons that a mother has a special place in her heart for just them in B.P. Chopra's Mahabharata?Sure, Mother Yasoda is only the Lord's foster mother but isn't every mother who engages in this lila, even Devaki? How can the causeless cause have a mother (or father)? It's not possible. No, I feel the Lord only engages in eternal pastimes with His devotees who really love Him as He is to them. Sometimes the devotees are amazed by the Lord's abilities but then yoga-maya is employed so they forget. It's appropriate for Lord Brahma to love Krishna as his master the Supreme Personality of Godhead as that is their lila, so it is appropriate for Krishna's mother to love Him as every mother loves their ordinary son. Unconditional love and selfless love, is the teaching. Everyone is searching for their particular taste, but without unconditional love and selfless love, it will remain forever illusive.Also, the Hollywood style gore effects would have been better off left on the cutting room floor. I pray the mercy of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu continues to do its magic and lifts us all out of the illusory world and returns our fallen consciousness back to where it belongs, free from the miseries and suffering of conditional life. Into the service of the divine couple. This mercy isn't going to be available forever. Time marches on in the kali yuga towards its inevitable end. Don't waste it, chant Hare Krishna! Hear the transcendental sound vibration from His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad, or if you are so fortunate, from a pure devotee of the Lord somewhere in the world. Harinama from an impure soul can not be heard. Whatever level you're at if things are not steadily and noticeably improving over time something is wrong. Read moreMy little daughter loves to watch Sri Krishna make off with butter, endlessly play in the meadows, and fight off a variety of asuras of various forms and shapes. A lot of positive messages and a great way to educate your child on values while keeping them entertained. Interestingly, unlike most other animated series in India, this one doesn't fall into the negative stereotype trap of portraying the good guys as fair-skinned, and bad guys as dark (ironically, forget that Krishna means dusky/dark like the rain bearing clouds, but for some reason he's always in cool blue :) Kids absorb these things unconsciously, so this was a big plus for me.On the negative side, some of the action sequences are repetitive and episodic, and i've reluctantly taken off one star for that.On the whole, it is a great product for your child and I thank KrishnaStore for delivering this product to the US.Read less
